This will be Yayasan NUR’s debut fund-raiser and it stars Richard Street who, from 1971 to 1995, was lead singer of The Temptations, winner of three Grammy Awards and two American Music Awards.

If you’re a fan of rhythm and soul group, the Temptations, you’d better keep tomorrow night free and make time for A Nostalgic Evening with Superstar, Richard Street at Mandarin Oriental Hotel, Kuala Lumpur.

The show is presented by Yayasan Nikmat Untuk Rakyat, a non-profit organization under the patronage of founder Datuk Seri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil, and dedicated to providing educational and financial support to the underprivileged, handicapped, disabled or disaster-affected Malaysians.

This will be the foundation’s debut fundraiser and it stars Richard Street who, from 1971 to 1995, was lead singer of The Temptations, winner of three Grammy Awards and two American Music Awards.

The Temptations was first formed in 1959 and by 1969, their silky harmonies had made them the top R&B vocal group in the world with a string of pop chart toppers, including The Way You Do The Things You Do, Ain’t Too Proud To Beg, Get Ready, Masterpiece, Superstar and their signature track, My Girl........

Richard Street performed numerous shows with the Temptations in the 20 years he was with them, touring worldwide, and he was present when the group was inducted into the Rock-n-Roll Hall of Fame in 1989......."

Soulful evening, Richard Street of the Temptations to perform in Kuala Lumpur – Tick April 15 on your calendar for a night of soul. Yayasan Nikmat Untuk Rakyat will present A Nostalgic Evening with Superstar, Richard Street, who hails from the legendary R&B group, the Temptations.

The charity dinner show will take place at Mandarin Oriental Hotel Kuala Lumpur.

Street who joined The Temptations in 1971, is expected to woo the audience with evergreen numbers made popular by the group as well as other classic hits from the golden years of Motown.

The Temptations was formed in 1959 and ten years later, they were the top R&B vocal group in the world with string of pop chart-toppers such as The Way You Do the Things You Do, Ain’t Too Proud to Beg, Get Ready, Masterpiece, Superstar and their signature track, My Girl.

Together with The Temptations, Street has performed in numerous shows within the span of 20 years and has toured many countries worldwide. Street and the rest of existing and former group members were inducted into the Rock-n-Roll Hall of Fame in 1989.
